Don't get me wrong, lacking a real device, the emulator is pretty sweet, when it finally comes up and works!!! But if you are programming on a laptop, may I suggest that unless it's the most powerful laptop on the market, your programming experience is probably best on a desktop. My laptop is no slouch, at 2GHz and 1 GB of Ram, it's pretty decent, but it just doesn't run as well on comparable desktops. I'm sure there are exceptions out there, but that has been my experience.
On the positive side, using Google Code as a home for this project is working out really well. I like all the features it provides, all in one place, and the fact that it's free isn't too bad either.
